NEET (National Eligibility and Entrance Test)

About NEET : As the Medical Council of India (MCI) get the approval of the Central Government of India, it has made provision for a single eligibility cum entrance examination, namely, "National Eligibility cum Entrance Test" (NEET) for admission to the course namely, MBBS . Now, NEET will be the common entrance test (CET) for getting admission in the medical course, MBBS across all over the country.
From this year onwards that is 2013 the student will get relief from giving the multiple entrance exams for getting entry in MBBS course. NEET will allow students of class XII to sit only in a single entrance examination instead of giving multiple entrance exams. their MBA programs.

NEET EXAM Eligibility :
A. Academic Eligibility: Students of General Category should score aggregate minimum 50 percentage marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology and students of SC/ST/OBC category should score 40 percent.
Students must pass each subject individually (Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English).

B. Age Eligibility
i) At the time of admission, minimum age should be 17 years.
ii) Upper age limits relaxation by 5 years for the category of SC/ST/OBC

C. A student can give a maximum number of three attempts.

NEET Exam Pattern: NEET (UG) Entrance Examination consists of single paper which contains total 180 objective type questions. Each question contains four options with single correct answer. It will contain questions of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany, Zoology). From the subject Physics and Chemistry, students will get 45 questions from each subject. There will be total 90 questions from the subject Biology.

Exam Date: This exam is conducted in the month of May annually.
